What you will learn
- How to send a message
- What the folders are
- Who you can write to
Messages is the mailbox inside the system. It is how you contact your tutor or the office about anything to do with your course.
Step 1. Click Messages in the left-hand menu.
Step 2. Click Compose.
Step 3. Choose who to write to, by name.
Step 4. Give it a subject, write your message, and send it.
- Inbox
- Messages sent to you.
- Starred
- Messages you have marked to come back to.
- Sent
- Messages you have sent.
- Drafts
- Messages you started but have not sent.
Nobody's email address is shown
Messaging works by name. No email address is shown or shared, in either direction — yours included. That is deliberate, and it is why no screen in the system shows contact details.
What you should see
Your message appears in your Sent folder and in their inbox.
Helpful tips
- Say which course and which class or piece of work you mean. Tutors teach a lot of people.
- Use this rather than a personal email. It keeps the conversation attached to your course record.
